Step 1. Create a seller account
Sign up for a seller account or log in to Seller Central or if you already have one. We recommend that you use a professional seller account so you can benefit from all the services on offer.
Step 2. List your products
Link your offers to existing listings in the Amazon storefront or create new detail pages for products that are not yet in our catalogue.

If you own a brand, you can register it with Amazon before listing to take advantage of a series of additional sales tools and protection benefits.
Step 3. Configure shipping and return settings
You can use the settings and templates to set the right handling time, transit time and capacity limit for your operation.

You can also activate automated shipping settings and handling times to optimise the delivery dates that customers see. Consider setting up a cancellation window to reduce the number of cancellation requests you receive from buyers.

Finally, check your return settings regularly and adjust them, if necessary, to comply with Amazon's return policies.
Step 4. Managing inventory and fulfilling customer orders
Use the “Manage Inventory” feature to update information on products and offers.

When you receive a customer order, you can review it, confirm shipment and provide tracking information using the Manage Orders feature. Make sure you confirm the shipment within the specified time frames.

Return requests from customers who do not meet Amazon's return policy or are category exempt are sent to you for review. You must respond to all return requests within 24 hours using the Manage Returns feature.

Return mailing label: you are required to provide a prepaid return mailing label or a Returnless Refund for all return requests, in accordance with our policies. We automatically enrol sellers in our prepaid return mailing label programme to ensure compliance.

Customer Service by Amazon (CSBA) Customer Service by Amazon (CSBA) is a paid service where Amazon provides customer service on your behalf for orders that you fulfil as a seller. We will direct customer inquiries about these orders to Customer Service by Amazon so that you don't have to handle them yourself. You'll enjoy a 90-day free trial after you first sign up for Customer Service by Amazon. After your 90-day free trial, you'll pay a unit fee based on your performance, but you can unsubscribe at any time and get free or discounted rates if you maintain a valid tracking rate (VTR).

You can also use buyer-seller messaging to communicate with buyers to process orders or respond to customer service requests.
Step 6. Monitor your shipping performance
Use the Fulfilled by Merchant dashboard to track your performance, compare promised and actual delivery times to identify discrepancies and increase your sales.

Also, be sure to check your performance regularly using the Account Health dashboard. You can monitor your rates of order defects, shipping delays, cancellations before fulfilment and valid tracking. You can also check your compliance with key Amazon policies.

Amazon provides the estimated delivery time to buyers on the offer listing and checkout pages. This is the estimated time between the moment the buyer places the order and the delivery date of that order. Displaying fast and accurate delivery promises helps ensure a good customer experience and can improve sales.
Total delivery time = handling time + transit time (+ possible public holidays)
Handling time is the time between the buyer placing the order and you passing the order to the delivery service. You have three main options for setting your handling time.
  • Default handling time: set at the account level, it applies to all of your products by default unless you change it. Use automated handling time to amend preparation time based on historical shipping performance.
  • Product-level handling time: set for specific SKU/ASINs.
  • Automated handling time: activate automated handling time and the system will automatically set the appropriate handling times for each of your products.

Shipping Settings Automation

Shipping Settings Automation helps you quickly create shipping models with multiple delivery zones and transit times applicable to each zone. Amazon dynamically calculates the transit time between your shipping location and the customer's location by applying the applicable transit time of the shipping service you use.

For all orders sent with a shipping model where SSA is active, negative customer feedback will be removed if:
  1. You used a shipping method from those specified in the shipping model
  2. You shipped within the time frames
  3. Negative comments are about late delivery

Offer free delivery

Customers are more likely to buy products with free delivery. In fact, free shipping can increase your self-fulfilled sales by up to 12.4% *. You are more likely to win the featured offer when you offer free delivery.
