FAQ

1. How are prices for the expanded product listings set?
For Fulfilment by Amazon offers, the price is the same as the price listed on the source store and is adjusted for taxes and charges. When this option is enabled, prices are automatically adjusted to take into account estimated fulfilment costs (based on the dimensions, the fulfilment programme the seller is enrolled in and the estimated inventory location), estimated VAT, custom adjustments and the currency difference between source and target stores. For seller-fulfilled offers, the price is the same as the price listed on the source store and is adjusted according to the exchange rate, where applicable, and VAT. Note: The Build International Listings tool regularly adjusts prices to account for exchange rate fluctuations in target stores. The frequency of these updates might vary from daily to weekly. These updates will not show changes of less than 1%.
2. What does European expansion mean for my business in terms of VAT?
Choosing the EU One-Stop-Shop (OSS) option allows you to sell in several European countries without having to obtain and manage up to 27 EU VAT registration numbers. When you opt into OSS, you will declare all business-to-consumer distance sales in the EU on a single VAT return within your country of establishment, regardless of the actual country of dispatch. Note that this does not exempt you from other obligations for obtaining a VAT registration number, such as holding inventory in other EU countries. Always consult your accountant to understand the requirements that may be applicable to you. If you need assistance, check out VAT Services on Amazon, a comprehensive compliance solution that helps you manage your VAT registrations, documentation and returns.
3. How is my source store determined during expansion?
  • If you currently sell from just one store in Europe, this will serve as your source store.
  • If you sell in several stores in Europe, the store with the most listings will serve as your source store.
  • If you sell in several stores in Europe and a connection in the Build International Listings (BIL) tool exists, we will keep the source stores you have selected in this tool.
4. How will my listings be translated?
All target store product pages will be translated and created in the Build International Listings tool. You can modify the translations once the expansion to the selected European stores has been completed.
5. What else do I need to do once I’ve clicked on “Start expansion”?
No further action is required for FBA listings. Listings on the target store will become active at the end of the expansion process.

For seller-fulfilled listings, created listings will become inactive and your target store account will go into holiday mode. You'll be able to activate your seller-fulfilled listings directly on the European Expansion Accelerator page after verifying your account settings, listings and pricing, and the target store's fulfilment settings and templates.
