In a hyper-competitive market, Transparency gives you the edge
"Best of all, we are not seeing any attempts to counterfeit any products that we have listed in Transparency."
Jorge Hernández Jimenez
Directeur général chez OcioDual
Standing out in a saturated market
What's the secret to thriving in one of the most saturated retail sectors?
OcioDual's Jorge Hernández Jimenez seems to have cracked it.
Over the past 10 years, his brand, which sells consumer electronics and computer accessories, has grown despite operating in a highly competitive market.
Based in Alicante on Spain's magnificent Costa Blanca, OcioDual sources its entire inventory in bulk. This means their customers — both retail customers and businesses, including resellers — are all but guaranteed market-beating deals. However, the quality of OcioDual's products and its outstanding customer service are what set it apart.
"We have extremely high quality standards," says Jorge. "We also work with a world-class logistics firm that is right on our doorstep. And we always go the extra mile to make sure our customers are 100% happy."

The real deal
Standing out of the crowd in the consumer electronics and computer accessories space is very challenging. When malicious parties offer counterfeit products, they can compromise the quality that allows brands to stand out.
The consultancy firm CSC Global estimates that consumer electronics are the world's fastest-growing category of counterfeit goods, and a USD 169 billion (around EUR 142 billion) industry in its own right. It is up to brands to protect their products from any infringements and to help their customers verify that their purchases are authentic and safe.

« La satisfaction client s’améliore. Les ventes sont en hausse. Nous pouvons désormais nous recentrer en nous assurant que nos produits répondent systématiquement aux normes très strictes que nous nous sommes fixées. »Jorge Hernández JimenezDirecteur général chez OcioDual
Making it official with Amazon Brand Registry
Jorge started selling OcioDual's products on various websites. But Amazon quickly became the most promising channel, and not just because of its sales performance.
Jorge was also drawn to the array of brand protection tools that Amazon offers.
"Amazon ensures that your brand is protected. You can simply list your products and Amazon takes care of the rest."
Jorge started by registering OcioDual as a trademark. This allowed him to register with Amazon Brand Registry and start using protection tools such as Report a Violation and sign up for other brand development programmes, such as A+ Content and Sponsored Products.
Jorge's experience with Amazon Brand Registry prompted him to take things further and sign up for Amazon Transparency.

Taking best practices on board
When Jorge learned about Transparency on another seller's listing, he was impressed. "It seemed like a beneficial, easy-to-use tool," he recalls.
Implementing Transparency had an immediate, positive impact for OcioDual.
"Customer satisfaction has increased," says Jorge. "Sales are up. And we can now refocus on ensuring that every one of our products meets our high standards, as our mission is to offer exceptional quality to customers."
However, what sealed the deal was the fact that Transparency is proactive and preventative, rather than a tool that could only be deployed after a counterfeit product had been detected.
"Previously, we had to contact sellers ourselves. And if they were malicious parties, we would have to incur legal expenses. With Transparency, that's no longer the case. We no longer have to be the ones to worry about going after counterfeiters."

Le programme Transparency a permis d’augmenter les recettes de 30 %. Et surtout, nous n’avons subi aucune tentative de violation pour les produits que nous avons inscrits.
"Transparency lifts a weight off your shoulders."
Market research estimates that by 2025, the computer accessories market is expected to be worth USD 284 billion (around EUR 239 billion), while the consumer electronics market will be worth in excess of USD 1 trillion (around EUR 842 billion).
And, since Transparency has helped to strengthen its reputation and brand, OcioDual is perfectly placed to make the most of this opportunity.
"Everything is going well for us," says Jorge. "Compared to when we didn't have Transparency, we've grown while other businesses have recorded fewer sales."
